What’s happening now...
"Be careful what you wish for — you may get it!" That warning was never truer than it is now! With the advent of brand-new 1-hour SO2 and 1-hour NO2 NAAQS, folks were asking EPA to hurry up and release a new version of AERMOD to enable us to correctly address those new standards. On April 7, EPA released the new AERMOD; a day later, a new version of AERMET and a brand-new processor called AERMINUTE were released. On April 14, a minor update to AERMOD PLUS a new version of AERMAP were released. Our proverbial cup is running over!
In other news, the EPA LEADPOST post-processor was recently moved
to the SCRAM website. You can download it here.
So far, we have two of the A&WMA Understanding Today’s Clean Air Act Permit Programs workshops (New Orleans and Houston) under our belt, and the interest and attendance have been incredible. If you have a chance, come to the workshop in Denver May 4-5.
Don’t forget — the 2011 Annual Conference and Exhibition (ACE) of the Air & Waste Management Association will be held in Orlando, Florida, June 21-24. This is the "big event" for the air quality/environmental engineering industry. Oris will be there, and we’d love to see you there!
Click here for details on both the Clean Air Act workshop and the ACE.
We also have a new contact phone number here at Oris that might be
easier to remember: 855-AERMOD1 (855-237-6631).

News From BEE-Line Software
BEE-Line AerScreen
As we mentioned last month, EPA released the official, final version (version 11076) of its AERSCREEN model back on March 17, 2011. We are updating our BEE-Line AerScreen software to make use of version 11076, and you should see it released soon on the BEE-Line website. Don’t forget that BEE-Line AerScreen users in current maintenance can get this update by logging on and going to Support → Software Updates.
On April 11, 2011, EPA also listed AERSCREEN as its recommended screening model, supplanting SCREEN3. You can download the memo here.
BEEST Suite
We are diligently working to incorporate the new AERMOD and AERMET models into BEEST, and it will be ready for you even sooner than BEE-Line AerScreen! Please check the BEE-Line website for the announcement. We also will be presenting an online demo on May 19, 2011 at 3 pm CDT, which will show how to use the new BEEST for demonstrating compliance with the new 1-hour NO 2 and 1-hour SO 2 NAAQS. Click here to sign up for the demo.
Professional CalPuff
With all the hubbub associated with a new version of AERMOD, etc., you might have missed the news that Oris released a new version of our Professional CalPuff (v3.00.0) on April 5, 2011. This new version includes the requirements of FLAG2010 and support for CALPUFF version 6.4. Professional CalPuff users in maintenance can get this update from the BEE-Line website.
BeestXpress
Oris recently reached a big milestone with the 100,000 th AERMOD
model run on BeestXpress! BeestXpress is a great resource that enables
you to make huge AERMOD runs in a fraction of the time required by a
standard desktop or laptop computer — an AERMOD run that might
take 24 hours to run on your desktop PC can be uploaded to BeestXpress
and run in about an hour! To take advantage of BeestXpress’s
power, or to learn more about it, click here. You’ll be glad you did!
