What’s happening now...
Our newest version of BEEST is now out! BEEST version 9.82 incorporates all the new features in AERMOD version 09292 and includes improvements suggested by our users. Of particular interest is our new Google Earth interface feature. You can now overlay your property lines, building outlines, source, receptors and concentrations right onto Google Earth! As always, please let us know if you have suggestions or ideas for improving BEEST.
Don't forget...
There is still time to take advantage of our special freebie offer (Oris customers only). As we mentioned in last month’s newsletter, we will provide up to four hours of FREE training, consulting, met processing, or software programming services through February 28, 2010. Contact James Red at (512) 258-8855 or jred@oris-solutions.com for details.
A new development...
On January 22, 2010, US EPA promulgated a new 1-hour nitrogen dioxide standard of 100 ppb. EPA’s notice regarding AERMOD modeling to meet this new standard can be found at:
http://www.epa.gov/scram001/no2_hourly_NAAQS_aermod_02-25-10.pdf.

EPA also recently proposed a repeal of its PM-2.5 grandfathering provision as applied in New Source Review permitting. Information on this can be found at:
http://www.epa.gov/nsr/documents/20100204repealfs.pdf.

News From Bee-Line Software
As a reminder, on February 26 at 3 pm Central Standard Time, we will be presenting another in our series of free on-line demos: "Model Output Using BEEST". It will last approximately 30 minutes. RSVP to
demos@oris-solutions.com. If you missed any of our 2009 demos, you can find them on-line at Support → Demos. Our recently recorded "BEEST Overview, Part 1" may also be found there. "BEEST Overview, Part 2" will be uploaded in March.

EnviroMod University
We are excited about EnviroMod University’s first air modeling class in Canada. This one is called Air Quality Modeling with AERMOD and will focus on how to use the AERMOD system for model applications in Canada. We’ll miss the Winter Olympics, but we’ll only be a few hours east of there in Calgary, Alberta. If you have modeling projects or clients in western Canada, make plans to meet us in Calgary March 25-26. See our website www.enviromod-u.com for more details.
